On February 15thand 16th, EGM participated to the kick-off meeting of the LOTUS project. The aim of LOTUS (LOw-cost innovative Technology for water quality monitoring and water resources management for Urban and rural water Systems in India) is to address the issue of drinking water availability and provision in India.

The project has officially been launched with a meeting bringing together the 22 Lotus consortium members and led to important decisions regarding the initial steps to be carried out within LOTUS with an expected outcome of three solutions:

  • A real time and autonomous sensor
  • A water management solution analysing the data from the sensors
  • Social innovations to engage stakeholders during the entire project lifetime

EGM will be in charge of developing the electronic for the water quality sensor in India using background expertise from the Proteus project
